USK – 1000 BY is a Technical Grade High Viscosity Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC EHV) meeting the drilling industry standards API Spec 13A Section 10 & OCMA DFCP-7.

USK – 1000 BY functions as a high-yield viscosifier while controlling the fluid loss and providing shale inhibition. Due to its rheology control properties on the fluid system, increased drill solids transport capacity is obtained. It also helps the fluid suspending mud weighting agents by encapsulating them.

USK – 1000 BY is an effective high-yield viscosifier applicable in Fresh water, Sea water and Salt Saturated water fluid systems. It helps reducing friction pressure and builds a protective colloid on the surface of the drilling well wall. The product is resistant to bacterial degradation and compatible with other drilling fluid additives.

The recommended initial treatment for USK – 1000 BY is from 1 to 3 lb/bbl (2.85 to 8.5 kg/m³)
depending on the salt level, other solid content and water quality.

Elevated temperatures will reduce the viscosity of the fluid containing USK – 1000 BY. To avoid the thermal thinning, using an oxygen scavenger or a thermal stabilizer is recommended in excess of 120°C (250°F) in order to protect the polymer.

USK – 1000 BY should be added to the solution by using high speed conventional mixers at a uniform rate and slowly in order to avoid lumping or fish eye formation and delayed dispersion.

USK – 1000 BY is non toxic for environment and not a dangerous material for transport regulations. The product is packed in 25kg moisture proof kraft paper bags and should be stored cool and dry indoors.
